I am a member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes – I am Bitterroot Salish & Qlispe  and a first-generation descendant of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe of Idaho. I am a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin to many. I have worked for CSKT over 30 years in various capacities, many of those years helping teach and share the traditional Salish/Qlispe cultures and traditions as they have been passed down to me. I began working here at the center in 2003 as Education Director, then Exhibit Coordinator and promoted to Director 5 years ago. I have attended Salish Kootenai College in various courses obtained a Certificate of Completion in Early Childhood Education, received several training courses in Care of Photos, Collections Management, Museum Security, Exhibit Development and Protecting Cultural Collections through NATHPO (Native American Tribal Historic Preservation Office). I enjoy beading, making moccasins, and helping others learn. I like hitting the outdoors, walking, hiking, kayaking, camping and fishing but mostly spending time with my family who gives me the most strength in life. My favorite part of Three Chiefs Culture Center is the Museum- the artifacts that help tell our stories and histories of our ancestors. I like studying the unique patterns, designs and tools our people made & used and still do today. I respect our Tribe’s histories, traditions and cultures and ancestors and enjoy sharing these precious Salish, Qlispe and Kootenai histories with those that want to learn.
